چکیده

For ultra-wideband (UWB) communication, Rake receivers using matched filter detection show the best performance but they are complex to realize due to the inherent channel estimation problem and combining problem. Transmitted reference schemes, on the other hand, allow for a less complex receiver structure that is able to combine the energy from different multipath components without channel estimation. These schemes, however, show a performance loss due to non-linear operations on noise terms (generation of noise-noise crossterms) when forming the decision variable. This paper describes a receiver structure for UWB communication capable of capturing the energy from different paths without the need for channel estimation. The proposed hybrid matched filter correlation receivers reduce the performance loss, due to the noise-timesnoise term. Ultra Wideband Monopole Antenna Excited by a Capacitive Coupling Feed with Double Band Notch Function

This paper presents the results of a new monopole antenna that exhibits 2.75-10.7 GHz performance. The proposed antenna consists of a radiating patch with notches excited by capacitive coupling feed. Also, the antenna’s truncated ground-plane incorporates a central notch. This modification significantly improves the antenna’s impedance bandwidth by 118% over an ultra-wideband frequency range. T...

A Compact Ultra-Wideband Filter Based on Left Handed Transmission Line by Using Complementary Split Ring Resonators and Series Capacitor

A compact and sharp rejection UWB microstrip bandpass filter is developed using left handed metamaterials. For realizing a backward-wave propagation medium, two split ring resonator (CSRR) in the back substrate side and also one series capacitor etched in the host line, are used to produce a negative effective ε and μ, simultaneously. Moreover, in the proposed structure, two doublets parallel c...

Ultra-wideband radio, conveying data by transmitting narrow pulses without carrier, is a promising communication technology. Transmitted reference method can work with cross-correlation receivers, which have simple channel estimation and multipath diversity acquirement as well as low sampling frequency, to make a low cost application available. Optimal and suboptimal single user receivers for u...

Ultra-Wideband Channel Modeling using Singularity Expansion Method

Ultra-wideband (UWB) communications is expected to revolutionize high data-rate, shortdistance wireless communications, providing data-rates in excess of 100 Mbps. However, the wireless channel distorts the transmitted signal by dispersing the signal energy over time. This degrades the output signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of a correlation based matched-filter receiver, limiting the achievable dat...
